Monologue Performance
I feel my monologue performance couldn’t been
better, but I thought I did pretty well. I feel that Friday’s performance was
my best performance because I used the right emotion for different lines that I
said in my mini monologue. I did forget a little part in my monologue, but I
improvised by pretending I was taking like a moment to myself like I was sad
because my character's mother is in the hospital. I do feel that if I was more
prepared I would’ve done better.
I learned how if someone has the same monologue as
you, both of you can portray the character in different ways. This taught how
to be more confident about performing in front of an audience, for example, my
class. Also being able to do blocking by myself, and using a small space to
portray by character the way I feel is best. I’ve also learned how to use my
character in the way I feel is appropriate for myself to make the character
come alive, and not have a teacher how to act.
I thought I did well getting in front of the class
and performing in front of everyone without being shy or nervous. I feel like
every time I performed it got better and better. I also feel that I did well
memorizing my monologue, and only forgetting only a few seconds of it. But I
got right back into it. It was a little hard getting up in front of the class
for the first time, but I feel that I did a good job actually going up.
I feel I need to work on for upcoming projects is
my blocking. I didn’t really know what to do for my blocking, so I definitely
need to work on that as well. I also need to work on using my face more, and
changing my emotion on the line I have more often. I feel like I need to be
more prepared, and use the whole stage, but not too much. I have learned from
my performance that I stay in one area. I hope to become a better actor over the
year.
