The sonalogue that really stood out to me was Mals sonalogue when she chose, “tell me what’s wrong with me.” It was very powerful. The first element that I would choose is lighting. I would have the lights not too bright, but not too dark. It would be dim, and the lights may be blue depending how she is presenting it. The lighting would have to need intensity, color, direction, and movement to influence the four functions of stage lighting, such as, mood, selective focus, modeling, and visibility. Mal would need a spot light so she is also the main focus. It is very important because it sets the mood of the scene.
The second element she would need is costume. Costuming is very important because it can set the mood of the scene, just like the lighting. Her costume should look like she was trying to find the best outfit she could possibly find. Her hair should look straightened, and looks like she just had it done. The costume should also fit the design of the stage so it won’t look off balance. Costume is very important because without costume the whole scene would look off because the scene that she is talking about is about how she looks, and if she has sweatpants on, it will look off.
The last element would have to be set design because without a set, the scene wouldn’t have the same purpose. I would think the set design should have very few props because we don’t want to take the mood away from the actor. I think the set should maybe have a couch in case she wants to sit down in her scene for her blocking. It is very important to not have too many props because if you have too many props it could take away from the actor.
