Tech Theater


Costumes:
  • Style of clothing to portray a specific character
  • Students learn to translate designs into the clothing actors wear
  • Character identity
  • Main focus stands out by wearing a different color than the ensemble


Design:
  • The space of which a performance is taken place
  • Create stage pictures
  • Design space, costumes, and props that you see in a performance
  • Works behind the before, during, and after the production
  • Costume designers are fashion designers for the theater


Lights:
  • Involves the four major Controllable Qualities of light, color, intensity, direction, and movement
  • The mood of the stage
  • Selective focus
  • Modeling and Visibility
  • Intensity- brightness/ darkness


Sound:
  • What you hear during a production
  • The way the actor speaks changes the way of how loud or soft the mics are
  • Effects the vocal projection
  • Effects the projection of speaking and singing


Skills to be a good sound designer:

  • Genuine enthusiasm for sound and film
  • Understanding of acoustics
  • Expert knowledge of sound recording and editing techniques
  • Excellent listening skills
  • Creativity and imagination
  • Able to work conceptually
  • Excellent communication skills
